In our Gantry WordPress Framework review, part of our WordPress Framework Showdown, we discussed many things that we loved about Gantry and a few things we thought needed improvement. One item missing from the framework was inheritance; the ability to configure a layout once, apply it to other content types, and update it from a single place.
That functionality has been added in their latest release, Gantry 5.3 (full changelog). The lack of support and updates from Headway are precisely the reason I’ve been Googling for reviews and comparisons like this one. Headway’s last published blog post was over 2 months ago, where they assured people everything will be alright, blah, blah, blah. Since then, no major word about Headway 4.x coming back from the dead. With that kind of radio silence, I’m worried about Headway’s future. I’m considering a facelift for my business website. It’s currently working OK on Headway 3.8 (and responsive, to boot) but before I invest a lot of time on my new design, I want… Read more »
